Thief in the Night is the musical partnership of lifelong friends Shawn Blomberg and Adrian Kolbo. Shawn lived across the street from Adrian in Sioux City, Iowa. The two struck up a musical bond as teenagers and began writing songs and forming a band. Each is a gifted-songwriter, but the real magic takes place when one brings a new song to the other. The blend of their vocals, (either sings harmony or lead, above or below) and each person's differing sensibilities, brings to fruition the ideas of their writing. For their new album Midnight Redemption, the tandem teamed up with producer/engineer Chris Dobbs in their adopted 2nd home of Indianapolis. As the three juggled school, work, and their personal lives, they focused on one mantra. "Make a great album." For this expressed purose, Shawn and Adrian spent a weekend retreat locked away in monastary polishing each song's arrangement for the album. From the first song to the last, Midnight Redemption was planned as a complete album, with each song specifically chosen to compliment the following one. Over a 6 month period the three recorded and re-recorded the songs that create Midnight Redemption. They are currently touring in support of Midnight Redemption and writing the next album. Influences: Beatles, Pearl Jam, Jayhawks, Beck, Radiohead and Others.
